ErstSem Working Group #

The ErstSem working group is responsible for supporting first-year students and those interested in studying electrical engineering and information technology. Their tasks include setting up information stands and participating in the Schülerinfotag (an event for high school students), creating the Erstsemesterinfoheft (first-year information booklet), and planning and organizing the Master and Erstsemesterinfotage (information days for first-year and Master students). These events take place during the first two days of the semester and aim to help new students get started with presentations and tours of the university campus.

Erstsemesterinfoheft #

The Erstsemesterinfoheft addresses questions concerning life at and around the university. It contains the most important information presented in an easy-to-understand format, compactly summarized and with further links provided. Highlights include a university glossary and articles about the first-semester courses. The Erstsemesterinfoheft is published annually in September and is available at our information events and in our script sales.

Erstsemsterinfotage #

During the first two days of the Winter semester, new students will learn everything that is important for studying and life at the university. In addition to various presentations, tours take place in which students get to know the campus of the main site. Topics include, for example:

Masterinfotag #

The Masterinfotag is similar to the Erstsemesterinfotage. For example, the portals or campus will be presented. On this day, you will also get to know your contacts in the study secretariat. The information day takes place in the last week of the lecture-free period, both in the summer and winter semesters, typically on a Friday. More information can be found under Master.

Contacts for First-Year Students and Prospective Students #

The Student Council, especially the ErstSem working group, is also the first point of contact for all questions about starting a degree in electrical engineering and information technology. During the day, there is almost always someone to be found in the student council rooms in the basement of building N4. We can also be reached by phone at 089 289 22998 or by email at erstsem@fs.ei.tum.de.

Participate #

Do you want to pass on the support you received during your first days at university to new first-year students? Do you enjoy inspiring students to choose our degree programme? Are you interested in making contacts with the official bodies of the CIT by getting involved?

If one or more of these questions apply to you, then you have come to the right place. But of course, there are many other good reasons to participate in the ErstSem working group. As you have seen above, the tasks of our working group are very diverse and range from small tasks such as helping out at information stands or university tours to organizing the Erstsemesterinfotage or creating the info booklet. Anyone can get involved, regardless of semester. We are particularly looking for Master’s students who are interested in organizing the Master introduction.

If you’re interested in getting involved, just email us at erstsem@fs.ei.tum.de.
