How to find us #

The Technical University of Munich is situated in the very center of Munich, not far from the main station. You can reach it easily via public transport, but since the traffic and parking situation in the city centre is somewhat critical, we do not recommend that you come by car. If you have no choice, we suggest leaving the car on a Park&Ride-parking in the suburbs of Munich and travelling to the city centre via public transportation.

Subway: Take the subway line U2 from the main station in the direction of Feldmoching (or Harthof) and alight at Theresienstraße station (2 stations, ca. 3 minutes). After exiting, follow the Theresienstraße to the east for about 3 minutes. You should see the two bridges of the Technical University pretty quickly, just walk in that direction until reaching the main campus.

Tram: The tram lines 27 and 28 pass by the Pinakotheken station, which is closest to the university (a ca. 5 minutes ride when coming from Karlsplatz (Stachus)). You should also be able to see the university, especially the bridges, from that stop as well. After a 3 minutes walk to the west, you’ll reach the campus.

Bus: The bus lines 100 (“museum line”), 58 and 68 (“city ring”) have stops right next to the TUM (all named “Technische Universität”). If you take the lines 153 or 154, you’ll need to alight at Arcisstraße stop and follow the Arcisstraße for a block to the south to reach the campus.

On foot: Starting from the main station, walk along the Luisenstraße to the north, then take a right at Theresienstraße. It is a 15-20 minutes walk, depending on your walking speed and orientation skills.
